Task

The energy center was to be converted to efficient and climate-friendly generation of electricity, heat, and steam. A contractor was to make the necessary investments in a combined heat and power plant (CHP) combined with a waste heat boiler for steam generation. The contractor was also to take care of the approval under the Federal Emissions Control Act (BImSchG).

Implementation

ETANET received the contract in June 2014 and, following approval under the Federal Immission Control Act (BImSchG), was able to begin construction in October 2014. The first CHP unit went online in April 2015. In January 2016, ETANET was then commissioned to install a second CHP unit of the same design, including a steam generator. The second CHP unit went online in May 2016, and the entire plant was completed by August 2016.
